About the Area

Aliso Viejo is a 6,600-acre planned community in Orange County, midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. It was incorporated in 2001 as Orange County鈥檚 34th city and has a population of about 50,000 residents. More than half of the community is dedicated to parks, recreation, schools, open space, and community facilities. The mild coastal climate averages 67 degrees Fahrenheit with an average annual rainfall of 12.6 inches. Aliso Viejo is 10 miles south of John Wayne Airport (SNA), 50 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and is adjacent to the beautiful 4,000-acre Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, which surrounds 85% of the Soka campus.
